Lutherwood is located on beautiful Lake Samish, just south of the very cool city of Bellingham, Washington. (Bellingham is just 30 minutes from the Canadian border)! With Western Washington University, Mount Baker Wilderness, proximity to the San Juan Islands and rocky beaches (not to mention yummy food), Bellingham is a great spot to land for a few months (or longer)!
In addition to being the only camp still operating on Lake Samish (with swimming, canoeing, water skiing, and more), Lutherwood’s 106 acres include an amazing second-growth forest with trails that connect to popular state parks. If you’re looking for a very Pacific Northwest-y summer, look no further than Lutherwood! -

Because this is a summer camp, you will be sleeping primarily in one of our enclosed cabins. We have additional housing based on staffing needs, but you will have a secure space to keep your things each week.
We are also a community! While there may be opportunities to sleep in an individual area as the need arises (for instance, if you are ill), plan to share a cabin with some of your fellow amazing staff members!

Typical time off begins around 5:00 pm on Fridays and ends on Sunday morning. All staff are contracted to work one weekend throughout the summer, and assignments are made during staff training. You will be paid an additional stipend for working the weekend.
The Staff Training schedule may include some weekend work, but in that case, you would have additional time off during the week to compensate for being “on.”
